When you do woodworking with your child, they are developing eye/hand coordination and dexterity, problem-solving and creative thinking. They get real experience with measurement, numbers, and fractions. You can use help them learn elementary woodworking skills, but they also must learn to care for their own tools, cleaning them and putting them away at the end of each project. By having tools that are their very own, they will feel more inspired to care for them and have them ready for their next project.
