This is very nice wool that is comfortable in a wide temperature range. As a first layer, our children only resist at the moment of dressing- unlike the outer layers. We've found that itchiness only occurs when the children do not need wool on. AND- we have gotten as many as 4 years of constant winter wear out of the shirts in particular, which makes them seem like a bargain.
